Description
With slightly serrated edges on their gorgeously colourful leaves, this is the perfect plant to get in your home for the Christmas period. These can also be placed outdoors during the spring and summer and bought back in for winter growing. You could even buy a few and re pot them into a bigger plant pot for a larger display.
They also flower, but some people like to remove the flowers so the plant concentrates on putting out a larger, more colourful and leafy display.
Care
Light ~ Bright indirect to some direct sun (Great in warm conservatories)
Water ~ Water well in the growing seasons but do allow the plant to slightly dry between each watering, but never allow to become bone dry.
Humidity ~ Loves humidity as it is a tropical plant. A pebble tray is a really good way of creating the humidity it needs if you don’t have any space in your higher humidity spots.
Not suitable for pets that like to chew.
